Rickenbacker Pete Townsend

Here we have a 1987 Rickenbacker 1998PT Pete Townshend signature model in great working order, including the original hardshell case. This guitar was cherished by only ONE ORIGINAL OWNER! The 1998PT (Pete Townshend limited edition) one of a limited run of only 250 guitars. This one is number 191 according to the serial number. The 1998PT model indicates the features of the model made by Rickenbacker exclusively for distribution by Rose Morris in the UK, sporting a distinctive traditional F hole instead of the "shark fin” variety seen on the Rics offered in the US market. The guitar features three high output “chrome-bar” single coil pickups. It features a three-piece maple walnut neck has a fast action C-shaped profile. The rosewood fretboard has the dot inlays. The Rickenbacker truss rod cover logo is intact along with Kluson-style tuning machines which work well and hold pitch. All of the electronics function as intended. The chrome-plated hardware is clean and shiny, including the "R" tailpiece, bridge with original cover, and three of the Chrome bar (Toaster Top) pickup covers. Thev K-0 prefix serial number on the mono jack plate dates to November of 1987. Featuring black pointer knobs and a unique Pete Townshend - Limited Edition pickguard which was always protected with cellophane or taken off entirely and stored prior to playing. The gloss Fireglo finish highlights light birdseye figuring on the two-piece maple back and front.
The guitar has signs of being carefully played for 38 years with things of note (pun intended) being 3 dings into the wood, the first on the back of the neck on the treble side and 2 more on the back of the body, some minor buckle dash on the back and a couple small ones on the front.
