You’d think with a distortion gain from 22 to 50 db that MXR might call this something creative, like Bone Cruncher or Ear Splitter, but they tend to keep things simple and straight forward, and nowhere is that evidenced more than with this pedal. Simple controls, just Output, Tone, and Distortion are all that’s needed to dial in your sounds. No flashy paint scheme here, no bank of LED lights, just a pedal that goes from sweet sustain to bone-crunching, ear-splitting dirt. Oh, and all at a price you can afford.
